February 2011 Moses Botkin Challenge

This was Diana's idea...Converse Tennis Shoes.

And, yes, there are really mine and I wear them alot (I can do that since I'm a funky painter :). Except mine are chinese embroidered purple satin! Was in a major hurry...had real good reason to bail this month, but since I've never missed a month...well you get the picture.

ended up with a pretty good shoe on a great big panel. Randy suggested the basketball (not that my Satin Chucks have ever been close to anything resembling sports!

Moses Botkin Challenge 1/2011

I'm managing to blog once a month...hardly up to speed! This month's challenge was to paint whatever we could think of beginning with the letters 'pi'. Thanks Sharman for a good one!

"Apples for Pie"

I had just finished writing a new 'Soft Pastel…an exploration' ebook+ for MyArtTutor and had done a demo showing 4 different techniques for the back cover. 'PI' fit right in! Two pigs, a pickup, pineapple, pilsner and pie...Let's see...we robbed the piggy bank, a pickup took us to the farm for pork, it was roasted with pineapple, washed down with pilsner and finished dinner with PIE! Great job guys... :) Vicki
