Ms. Laney

I took my source photo during the Kay Polk workshop, but did this painting at home. I regret I didn't get her name...was probably talking or something :)

I had fun with this painting...would have to say it is as close to 'a Vicki' as there has been yet. I dearly love thick pigment and scraping and mark making into it! Photography does weird things to oils!

I was bad. Actually forgot about it until 2-ish. Working on a new concept painting and can't wait to get to the easel every day.

Didn't know anything about lunch...Let's plan something for real and I'll bring the real painting!

I loved the play by play progress on this portrait. About half-way you switched horses in mid-stream...! Is this when the K.Polk influence left, and the real Vicki signed in? Love the expressionism in this work, and the eyes are hypnotic!

Thanks, Julie! Hypnotic eyes...now if I can just figure out how to do it again!
