"Urania's Tulips"

"Urania's Tulips"
18x18" oil on canvas

This has some really cool things going on in the background. I used Mars Black (thinly) for a matte look, along with Ivory Black for shiny. Then scraped straight cobalt, carmine and ultramarine in spots.

Urania always has beautiful flowers in her house, and these just begged to be painted.

heavens, no life...pic. They were in constant motion following several light sources. It would have taken a magician to pull this off from life!
