Day 5 with Charles Reid Watercolors in Rogers...boohoo...

Well, I left off on the last blog with the teaser about the floral. Everyone was waiting patiently, in hopes he wouldn't change his mind. I know he was tired after all the demos, fishing in our backyard, going out to eat, travel, etc.

Finish. Viola.

So pooped. 2:30. sat down and tried to think creative...Randy and Charles kept packing up his chair...

My effort for one hour. Charles' painting, chair, the bouquet and the curtain. Yup, those would be my converse as I shot another bad photo for the  blog. Not too bad an idea, but florals are NOT as easy as he makes you think they are. Might have a do-over on this one since I have a good source photo. (aren't those CUTE shoes...b&w with pink butterflies, high-tops...Randy picked them out and brought them home to me)
Next, is Erika with the painting Charles did of her on Tuesday, and then Susan with her painting of the floral. They each got first right of refusal to purchase their paintings...there were 4 and 5 names on each painting, and Judy draws numbers for those. Quite a privilege, to have an original Charles Reid in your house!

Erika, Judy and Charles

Charles, Susan and Judy
sorry guys, not the best photo, 'cept of Susan who was grinning like the cheshire cat over her acquisition!
So long, Charles and Judy. Until next time, in the beautiful Ozark Mountains, in (the metropolitan) area of Rogers, Arkansas!

Awwww I can't believe it's been over a week! But it actually seems like it's been months already since we had to warp back to our regular lives WAH!

Thanks for the post, sure brings back great memories - so good to see the Chuck and Judy stars! And the happy faces of yours truly and Susan knowing we made great acquisitions that day ;)(I was just staring at mine today).

You done good with your painting Red! I was just plain pooped out the last day! We should paint from photos and compare notes?

When are we bringing back Theresa Rankin?

I'm tickled you got your portrait...you were a great model, and Charles did such a good job. My Charles painting is hanging in a spot where I see it every day!

Shirley and I just framed my painting today. My walls are full, but I'll have to find a sport. I have a small dilemma, I want to be able to see it upclose at will so it will have to be hung low lol See you tomorrow Red!

What a great portrait!!! I can see everyone thoroughly enjoyed this!!! Maybe I will see you at the ANA show? Until then many more successes!

I got two paintings accepted for ANA! So definitely will see you.

Be sure to tell Erika you liked her portrait. She bought it, but her hubby didn't like it. Charles is much like his favorite (Sargent) does not capture a photographic likeness (take a photo for that)...but he captures the soul!

Thanks so much for documenting the workshop so well. It sounds like everyone learned a good deal and had fun as well!
